“We were as close to on time and on budget as possible, which is rare in San Francisco construction. We had been thinking of bringing the façade of our home back to its 1912 era, for some time. After the first contractor fell through Ronan was recommended to us. We were very happy with his quick response, and we felt we could count on him. “The job was done with care and precision. When we bought the house in 2015 it wasn’t completely our style, so we wanted to remodel and make it our own. We decided to relocate and enlarge the kitchen which meant moving the plumbing. In the process, Pat discovered we had water intrusion which required a new slab and foundation. We put new hardwood flooring throughout the house, remodeled the third-floor bathroom, added closets to the master bedroom and our daughter’s room. While the work was being done, we went on several trips and left it in their capable hands. That’s how confident we felt. We are very happy with the results.”

“You don’t find a team like this often. Dunros did a great job of remodeling our home in San Francisco, so when we moved to Oakland, we looped them in right away. This home was a disaster. The kitchen was sandwiched between the living room and family room; we tore out walls to make one big functional space and a gourmet kitchen. They had to reroute a staircase to the basement, and they turned a dingy old downstairs into a beautiful, functional laundry room and a space where the kids can play. We also created a large guest room and bath upstairs. It was a big undertaking, but we knew from the beginning they would do it right. They’re hands-on, have a good team, and their communication is great. We’ve told so many people about Pat and Ronan. We’ll be calling on them for new projects.”

“You can find cheaper, but they’re not going to be as good. We had engaged Dunros Construction for the remodel of our 1930s bathroom a few years ago and they did an exceptional job. So when we decided to redo the backyard to make it usable, we wanted to work with them again.

We started by hiring an architect to design the deck. San Francisco and decks are like oil and water, and as ours was a second floor deck, it needed a lot of engineering. Pat saw that the architect’s plans were not going to work due to slope of the land. He had to reconfigure them — problem-solve on the spot. 

Work started on President’s Day 2020, two weeks before the health crisis hit. Pat immediately took steps to protect the team and they continued to work throughout the year. We were so excited about the project we built a website to document it.
